Life coaching is the process of helping someone find the path between where they are now and where they want to be. It is about setting and achieving goals in many areas of life, including business, health and wellbeing, career, relationships and work-life balance. It can be as broad as wanting to find what will make you happier or as specific as wanting to start a new job.
A life coach uses insightful questioning to help their clients identify the goals they want to achieve, recognise their current circumstances, consider all the options open to them and choose which actions they will take within a defined timeframe. Life coaching centres around the belief that everyone can achieve their goals through acknowledging and using their own resources, rather than being told what to do.
With Walks ’n’ Talks we will be doing this outside in nature. We will use natural attributes that will support the coaching. Each session we will be walking a different path that provides us with different coaching opportunities. The sessions will be tailored to you specifically keeping in mind your walking abilities and/or injuries.

Just to be clear, life coaching isn’t therapy. Therapy is usually focused on healing from past events whilst coaching helps you take control of the present, so your future actually looks different. Its not about massive, unrealistic life overhauls. Its more about creating the kind of awareness that makes your everyday better. Because that’s where confidence, happiness and success are built, in your day-to-day actions, habits and thoughts. Most people think they need motivation. What they really need is structure. Clarity. Accountability. Someone to hold up a mirror and say “Here’s what’s keeping you stuck — now lets fix it”
Thats what coaching is. Its not a hype. Its not a pep talk. Its the process of finally learning yourself well enough to stop sabotaging the life you want.

To put it as simply as possible it is camping in the great outdoors away from designated campsites and caravan parks. You can do it for one night or for weeks at a time. You can pitch in whatever part of the wild you see fit as long as you act responsibly. Practice the Leave No Trace and respect the Scottish Outdoor Access Code.

A microadventure is an exciting, bite-sized outdoor experience that fits into your everyday life. The term was brought to life by British adventurer Alastair Humphreys in his inspiring 2011 book, A Year of Microadventures. He defines microadventure as “an overnight outdoor adventure that is small and achievable, for normal people with real lives,” making the call to adventure accessible to everyone.
These adventures are all about shaking off the routine, getting outside into nature, and finding joy and excitement close to home. While you don’t have to camp out to call it a microadventure, spending a night under the stars definitely adds to the enjoyment.
With Walks ’n’ Talks this means leaving around 5pm and coming back around 11am the next day. We’ll walk for a couple of hours before setting up for camp and spend a night under the stars.

All the sessions provided by Walks ‘n’ Talks are beginner friendly and are adaptable to your needs and requirements. If for example you have never done anything like this before I have beginner routes that are not as intense as for example routes for someone that would like to be challenged.
-
Unless stated otherwise the routes on offer are designed to be very interchangeable. This is sometimes possible en-route but can definitely be done on day 2 after we have discussed this with the whole group the night before at camp.

This goes back to the ethos of Walks ’n’ Talks as I want clients to have a unique personal experience with their partner, family or friends without the hassle of different expectations, experience or skills that larger open-groups can sometimes have. Small groups of 1, 2, 3 or 4 clients also importantly have less impact on our precious environment and resources.
However, there might be some “bigger” events happening over the spring/summer period which will be announced on the website and/or social media outlets as soon as they are available.
-
It is important that clients get to choose the dates that suit them NOT somehow fit into a schedule. So just get in touch with me and tell me what you would like to do and when. We can take it from there.
There might be some “specific” events popping up over the spring/summer period which will be added and announced on the website and/or social media accounts as soon as they are available.
