Information The Walk Postscript
|
We intend walking the Southern Upland Way this year. In February 2001 Foot & Mouth
rears its ugly head. We believe it will be all over by August and there is no need to change
our plans. August come and goes. We hang on until September. The path is still shut.
We look for a long distance path that is not affected and come up with The Pembrokeshire
Coast Path.
This is quite appropriate. This path was the first long distance walk we became aware of long before we had attempted walking holidays or indeed backpacking. We were on holiday in the vicinity and had walked a little of the coastline. On returning, I bought a guide book for the path. A seed was sown. It is, therefore, fitting, albeit well over ten years later, that we walk The Pembrokeshire Coast Path ..... |
