Day19. Hawkser to Robin Hood's Bay - 4 miles
The last 4 miles to Robin Hood's Bay is slow going as Charl has a knee injury. It is still very misty, probably mistier than yesterday.
Arriving at Robin Hood’s Bay is dreamlike. We have done it. I am not elated as expected, just calm and satisfied.
It is done.
I dip my foot in the water. We have walked from one side of England to the other. We have a beer in the Bay Hotel and congratulate ourselves.
The sea is calm, the day warm and the atmosphere serene. I feel I am walking (or limping in Charlie's case) through a Victorian water colour.
The next day the skies completely clear and we are able to see the view we missed yesterday. Time to go home and bore friends and relatives with tales of our Coast to Coast walk.
